I'm looking for some authentic lingo for my character...so far, I think she would enjoy saying "My giddy aunt!"
She's a bit obsessed with modern women (ah, the 1920s)...any good dialect suggestions?
I have also ordered a copy of her two favorite books, since I have never read them...no, these are not the real figure's favorites, but the ones I conceived of for her...the Egyptian book of the Dead, and Virginia Wolf's first novel.
Think I need to go watch some more history channel to get firmly in the mood...
Here's an interesting site on Edwardian era: http://edwardianpromenade.com/
ReplyDeleteOooo thanks! You have all the best resources at your fingertips!
ReplyDeleteHow about "Well, strike me pink and knock me down with a feather!" That was in vogue around that time - my mother used to say it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that! Thanks for the idea :)
