Quote from Kingsolver

Reading Barbara Kingsolver's latest, "The Lacuna". The narrator is, what else? a writer, and I find his statement of readers beautiful and true for myself as well:

"I should like to write my books only for the dear person who lies awake reading in bed until page last, then lets the open book fall gently on her face, to touch her smile or drink her tears." (pg 355)

I think this quote speaks to me because I AM that reader, the one who can not ever put down a good book, who inhabits the pages of the story with full emotion, the reader who is shaped by every book she reads.
