Word Count Question

It's only 11:11 (make a wish!) in the morning, and I've already sat down and plunked out another thousand words to the YA novel in verse. I'm now at 16,169, and while I know the story is not done yet, I am wondering...what is standard word count for a novel in verse? It's such a different format from prose, and I don't know if some of the same guidelines and boundaries exist yet for this style...something to look further at.

I am really excited with how this is progressing, and I hope that during the Story a Day challenge I can continue to work on this WIP (and the others, as well!) We'll see, I guess. That's what a challenge is all about: being challenging!
