100 Books in 2012: Book 19 "White Cat"

Holly Black is another person I dream about being. Her fantasy is sharp and modern, and White Cat is no exception.

Cassel Sharpe is the only non-magical member in a family of curse workers. When he murders the daughter of a crime family, his own family pulls together to conceal his crime. But things are not as they seem, and everything Cassel thought he understood about "working" (magic, that is), his family, and even his identity are turned on their head because of the appearance of a white cat.

I loved this book. Fans of Cassandra Clare and Laini Taylor will devour this book. If you are looking for a convincing blend of reality and fantasy, look no further than White Cat.
