100 Books in 2012: Book 45 "Romeo Redeemed"

I received and ARC of this novel by Stacey Jay(due out in October), and even though I haven't read the first book in the series, I was able to dive in with ease.

Romeo cursed himself to darkness when he murdered Juliet centuries ago, but now he has another chance.  If he can woo Ariel and convince her to love him in just three days, his soul will be pulled into the light.  He will no longer serve the repulsive Mercenaries, but he will earn a chance to work as an Ambassador, defending love eternally.  But what begins as self-serving turns confusing when Romeo begins to fall in love with his prey.  Ariel is dangerously fragile, however, and makes a tasty target for the Mercenaries and their dark magic.  Will Romeo be able to save them both before it's too late?

Borrowing characters but not much else from the Bard, Jay creates a romance fraught with tension and the supernatural.  It's a quick read for anyone who loves love and hungers for more YA paranormal.   Be prepared to unlearn everything you think you know about Shakespeare's classic tale.

I don't read a lot of romance, but when I do indulge, I always have a good time.  What's one genre or author that you don't read often but still occasionally like to sample?

  1. sounds like an interesting book. :) I don't read all of Stephen King's books, but I did enjoy his dark tower series.

    1. I'm almost ashamed to admit that the only Stephen King I've read is his writing memoir...I need to remedy this!
