100 Books in 2012: Book 71 "Half-Blood"

A good friend recommended Jennifer Armentrout's Covenant series to me, and now I'm hooked.  I flew through this one, and I can't wait to get my hands on more of Armentrout's mythic world.

Alex is a half-blood.  Her mother is pure demigod, and her father was mortal.  There are two lives available to half-bloods: service to the Pures as Sentinels or Guards, or enforced slavery.  Alex always planned to be a Sentinel, but three years ago, her mother pulled her out of the Covenant and went on the run.

Now Alex is back, seeking shelter after a brutal daemon attack on her mother.  But nothing is what it seems, and Alex soon discovers that there's so much more to the choices her mom made than she knew.  As if that isn't bad enough, Alex is falling --hard--for her Pure trainer, Aiden.  It's forbidden for Pures and Halfs to get attached to each other, but she doesn't care.  It's not like there's a remote possibility he'll like her back...right?

Filled with myth, action, and enough twists and turns to make a roller coaster green with envy, this is one book you won't be able to put down.

What are you reading this week?  Cheer on the other 100 books participants: we're two thirds of the way through 2012!
