Whew. I've spent the better part of two days working on an author website for myself.
Yes, this seems a little like putting the cart before the horse, but, well, it was an assignment for my last MSLS class, and I wanted it to be useful to me. Check out the link on the right of the blog to view the site, and please let me know what you think! Feedback is invaluable to me.
I didn't end up using it on the site, but I came up with a catch phrase that I like for myself:
"Remember, dreams are just reality that hasn't happened yet!"
In other writing news, I'm working on a memoir piece that I hope to submit to a spiritual magazine soon. I've already submitted one draft, and the editor liked it but thought it was way too short, so we'll see what my revisions can do. I will keep you posted if anything gets accepted!
I'm very random right now, but I suppose that is what vacation is for.
In my other life as a teacher and future school librarian, I have a few things to do:
1. Final exam for my last class on Thursday
2. Schedule a time for the Praxis in LS
3. Take the Praxis
4. Check with my district HR folks about getting masters pay and fixing my certification
5. Stop and smell the roses
I think your author site looks great! It's funny - once I started publishing my own blog, I immediately snagged up mallorydowd.com, in hopes that someday it would be a professional space, not just a personal photoblog. :) I'm really happy for you, and you know what? It's hard to snag time to work on your art or to take breaks when you are going full time. You're doing what you can, and it's wonderful!
