As the year draws to a close...

We've spent the weekend getting last minute things ready for the great big trip to Egypt. I'm really excited, but it still feels surreal...maybe it will sink in when my feet actually touch the ancient desert sands.

While we're gone, I want to FILL the new travel journal I just bought. I told my husband, and he just nodded. I pointed out that it's an awfully long book, and he said, "I know you can do it."

Exhibit A of the blessings in my life.

Before we leave, I have a rather heft envelope to mail, upon which I have hung many hopes and dreams. I am, officially and on the record, a MFA applicant. Heaven help me.

May your holidays be bright and blessed, and may you have a merry Christmas and a happy Solstice and a beautiful start to the new year.

  2. I hope you have a wonderful trip, and I'm sure your travel journal will be publish-worthy! Also congrats on pursuing your MFA....I loved pursuing additional degrees as an adult when I actually WANTED to study and do well! You will succeed to the fullest. Safe travels, and a blessed Christmas to you and your family!
