One of my very good friends keeps me posted on writerly activities online, and this week she sent me an email about this short story contest on Figment.

In other writing news, I spent yesterday working on some poetry submissions, even though summer is the dead season for most literary magazines: so many of them are affiliated with universities, and only read submissions during the school year, but I found a few places to send a few pieces.
I've ignored the WIP so far today, but I think it's time I get going on it again. I want to feel nice and productive before our date night tonight! I love summer spontaneity.
