World Book Night
What is World Book Night, you may ask?
Started last year in the UK, it has spread now to include the US. On April 23rd, registered book givers distribute 20 books to non-readers or light readers (not just friends and family).
It's free to sign up, and the list of books you can request as a giver is phenomenal (my three choices were Hunger Games, Poisonwood Bible and Wintergirls).
You have until February 1 to sign up as a book giver, and then it may take some time before they let you know if you've been selected. I really hope I get to participate: I'd like to give the books to my developmental reading students at the community college!
If you are interested, sign up here.
Spread the love, spread the books!
