100 Books in 2012: Book 11 "Ship Breaker"

I always cycle through the various book awards when choosing new reads, and this Printz Award winner did not disappoint. Paolo Bacigalupi has crafted a gripping, dark, and violent futuristic world where oil tankers are nothing but scavenge and lives are thrown away without thought. Nailer works on a scavenge crew, but a hurricane changes his destiny: he throws in his lot with the rich survivor of a shipwreck. Filled with class divisions, betrayal, and unexpected relationships, this is an excellent novel for fans of "The Hunger Games" and other fast-paced reads.

We're already into the second month of 2012, but you can still sign up for the 100 book challenge here!
