Stalled

I feel like my writing has stalled. I spent some time this month polishing up a YA manuscript and querying it, and now...it's like hitting my head against a brick wall.

I have been out of the habit of daily writing for longer than I care to remember, and today 300 words came with sheer effort. I don't know if I'm just stalled, or if I'm stuck more deeply because I have finished four drafts and done...nothing...with them.

I have so many more ideas flying around in my brain, but sitting down and crafting one of those feels foreign.

I have taken far too long of a break from my craft. I will work to get back in the writing habit by writing at least 500 words a day.

Maybe it's time to return to my 2010 incomplete NANO novel for inspiration.

  1. Good luck! I went through something very similar - and it stalled me for longer than I care to admit. What finally helped - daily writing exercises that built my writing time up from 10 min/day to 30. That really got me unstuck.

  2. Thanks, Christine! I always enjoy prompts and daily writing, but it seems like I always forget how much that helps.
