100 Books in 2012: Book 1 "Gods in Alabama"
Yesterday, I sat down and flew through "Gods in Alabama" by Joshilyn Jackson. In 2010, I had the good fortune of hearing her deliver the keynote at the SCWWC, but it's taken me this long to get around to reading her debut.
Oh. My.
I loved every minute of this book, and I can't wait to read more of her work. Arlene is a deliciously unreliable narrator, and Jackson captures the "southern style" perfectly in this sometimes funny, sometimes painful, always powerful novel.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the YaYa books or "Fried Green Tomatoes".

I'm impressed by this challenge. I think putting a number on the books I read is very intimidating, but I know I read at least 50 or so a year... Best of luck with the challenge -- looks like you kicked things off with the right book!
